Workshops

Dotty Beads WorkshopsWhether you have a bit of experience with jewellery making or you are a complete beginner, don’t panic. Everyone goes at their own pace!

I’ve always loved glass beads and baubles since a child and quickly came to realise how easy it was to create fabulous necklaces (necklaces just for ME!) bracelets, ear-rings and such, I wanted to take the knowledge and share it with as many people as I could. The workshops I run are warm, friendly groups where everyone has help as they go along. I’ve bought all sorts of beads and pretty things that I take to the workshops and I believe there is something for everyone – if there isn’t, I make sure I source whatever it is that somebody has asked for!

The workshops have been running successfully for over a year now and at the moment run on a Sunday morning from 10-1pm. For greater availability, I’m looking to increase the number in the New Year to include a Saturday morning and Tuesday afternoon . Most workshops run (very loosely!) in two parts – the first is based on a theme that I have chosen and when that piece has been finished, you can chose what else you’d like to make. All materials are included in the price of each worshop! Most people leave with at least two amazing pieces of jewellery. The workshops are an ideal place to hone skills, whether it’s a recent skill, or a forgotten skill. And everyone has an opinion on colour schemes – so lots of help there!

I also offer jewellery making parties in the home, subject to distance (Weymouth/Portland/Dorchester) and can run parties for children. Children love to make bright and colourful bracelets or necklaces and take a real pride in what they’ve made! A real success for children (both boys and girls, I’ve found)  is making sun-catchers – easy for little fingers and fun for older children – they love creating these!

I have run workshops in our local hospice and Day Centre. In fact, if you have something in mind and you’re not sure, feel free to ask – I’ll give anything a go!

Prices for main workshops are £20.00 and includes all materials.
